About Springback Academy 2025:
Springback Academy offers aspiring dance writers the chance to be mentored in the fundamentals of dance journalism during Spring Forward Festival. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Academy provides participants the opportunity to develop responsible, effective, and attractive dance journalism skills under the mentorship of leading professionals.
This year's program will guide 10 emerging writers in critical writing techniques, offering a fast-track route to understanding the opportunities of digital publishing. Participants will write reviews, conduct interviews, and contribute longer opinion pieces, honing their skills in an action-packed festival setting.
Who is it for:
Springback Academy is open to Europe-based writers with an interest or some prior experience in writing about dance. Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is required, but it does not need to be the applicant’s first language.
Application Details:
Aspiring writers should apply by November 1, 2024 (24:00 UTC) using the
online form. Successful candidates will be notified by December 16, 2024.
