About Display City Sessions:

Apartment shortages, rising rents, and urban displacement are increasingly common challenges across Europe, often attributed to factors such as tourism, foreign investments, and gentrification. In some cases, these issues are used to support divisive narratives, including those targeting migrants. In parallel, the climate crisis is adding further complexity to the situation.

The Display City Sessions aim to bring together European-based journalists, media professionals, and representatives from small to mid-sized newsrooms to explore how housing and urban life are reported and to discuss the varying narratives shaping these issues.

The event, organized by Hostwriter and the Community Media Forum Europe, and hosted by Refocus Media Labs in Athens, is part of the Display Europe initiative. This initiative is dedicated to expanding European public discourse by fostering collaboration across 15 languages and enhancing media coverage on critical issues.

Eligibility:

- Open to journalists, media makers, and professionals from small to mid-sized newsrooms based in Europe.
- Applicants must be available to attend the event in Athens, scheduled for November 10-13, 2024.

Application Process:

To apply for participation, interested individuals should fill out the attendance form by October 20, 2024. The form includes an option to request financial support for travel and accommodation if needed.
