Fair, young, digital is the triptych on which Embodied Transformations, the new network project of the European Dance Development Network (EDN), will focus from 2025 to 2028.

Embodied Transformations is the EDN's fourth EU-funded network project and aims to connect contemporary dance professionals, organisations and communities across Europe in the hope of fostering a stable and interdependent dance ecosystem.

In this context, EDN working groups in the coming years will focus on improving working conditions for artists and other professionals, on community engagement practices with young audiences and emerging artists, and on cross-sector collaboration for digital innovation and access.

More specifically, the goals of the Embodied Transformation project will be to:

- Identify models that support sustainable living and working conditions for dance artists and other professionals.

- Investigate innovative approaches to community engagement while addressing youth mental health and wellbeing.

- Promote actions that encourage environmental sustainability within the dance sector, reducing its ecological footprint.

- Foster international partnerships and intercultural exchanges through equitable relationships with global dance communities.

- Strengthen cross-sectoral collaboration to enhance digital innovation in dance creation, production, and distribution.

Concerning the new programmes, these will include mentoring webinars, advocacy toolkits and micro-grants to support EDN members in their local advocacy efforts related to career sustainability, dance infrastructure, education, job creation and working conditions. Two travel-related programmes will also be implemented. The first aims to facilitate more equitable access to EDN field activities and the second to provide slow and low impact travel incentives to participants attending EDN field events. The Global Partnership Programme will support the participation of partners and representatives of the global majority.

Finally in partnership with the Performing Arts Coalition, involving EDN, IETM, Circostrada, EFA and Assitej, the Embodied Transformations project will facilitate sector dialogues on Cultural Rights, the Future of EU Funding for Culture, and Working Conditions in CCSs.
