Public spaces and streets of Pilsen will be filled with musicians, bands, circus performers, comedians, acrobats, dancers, painters, sculptors and other artists coming to Pilsen from all over the world to entairtain and to make us think, during 4-7 of September.
By Creatives Unite NewsroomBuskers from Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia, Portugal, Italy, the USA, France, Israel, Spain, the Philippines, Great Britain, Germany and Austria are performing in the eight main sound zones of the 12th edition of Pilsen Busking Arts Fest.
Visitors will enjoy musicians of ethno, electro-pop, indie rock, noise rock, rappers, drum players, dancers, street dancers and circus-acrobatic performers, including the Italian pair of “pensioners” C’è Chi C’ha teatro, “who will supposedly perform for the last time in their lives!”, said the festival’s dramaturge Jan Šinko.
Artists who are not buskers (yet) are also welcome by the organisers to try performing on the street themselves to ten more designated areas. "For artists, even experienced ones, there is perhaps no greater challenge than the direct confrontation of their art with visitors right on the street.” say the organisers.
Neighbours won’t be disturbed during the festival’s traditional afterparties, as headphones will be available for visitors to borrow and enjoy the Silent DJs sets of invited DJs.
Healthy Development for children’s zone will include performances by interested children under the age of 15 or fairy tale readings, while parents may practice yoga or take part in a drum jam.
The festival’s organisers aim at bringing back smiles to people’s faces. The festival’s primary goal is to entertain, revitalize the streets of Pilsen, “breaking out of everyday grayness and stereotypes, stirring up the city with positive vibrations, but also with strong emotions that make you think”.
The organisers introduce busking as an art including in their early days Edith Piaf, Bob Dylan, David Gilmour from Pink Floyd, B.B. King, Joan Baez, Eric Clapton, Janis Joplin, Louis Armstrong and Rod Steward.
All buskers have a code of respect and are “united by the original meaning of the Spanish word buscar=to search, as seekers of fame, freedom, independence, self-expression. "
