Perform at Moving Balkans Contemporary Dance Showcase 2026

Moving Balkans invites contemporary dance artists and choreographers from the Balkans to apply for the second edition of the Moving Balkans Contemporary Dance Showcase, taking place in Novi Sad, Serbia from 13–16 May 2026. The festival offers artists the opportunity to present their work to both general audiences and international dance professionals, with a focus on visibility, touring, and creative exchange.

About Moving Balkans

Moving Balkans Contemporary Dance Platform is a new and dynamic collaboration of dance professionals from across the Balkans, established at the beginning of 2024. The mission of the platform is to elevate contemporary dance in the region and position it competitively within Europe. After its successful debut in Ljubljana, Rijeka, and Zagreb in 2025, Moving Balkans returns for a second edition in Novi Sad. The showcase will feature 10 selected performances and 6 project pitches, bringing together artists, producers, and cultural professionals from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, and Türkiye. 

What to Expect

Selected artists will present their work to the public and to dance professionals from the region and beyond. The event also includes a pitch session for Dance Scape projects, professional networking, and the chance to tour within the Moving Balkans network. 

Who Can Apply

You can apply if:

- Your performance is a contemporary dance work lasting at least 20 minutes.
- It premiered in a professional setting no more than two years before the deadline.
- You have at least two years of professional experience as a choreographer.
- You are based in one of the eligible Balkan countries listed above.
- You own the rights to the submitted work and can present it in Novi Sad between 13–16 May 2026.
