Held under the motto "Heritage Matters for Europe", this year’s European Cultural Heritage Summit takes place as the EU prepares to launch its first-ever Culture Compass for Europe and debates the next Multiannual Financial Framework (2028–2034). The Summit will spotlight the importance of cultural heritage for democracy, solidarity, peace, sustainability, and European identity.

12 October – European Heritage Excellence Day
Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium
A showcase of 30 winning projects from the European Heritage Awards 2025. Practitioners from 24 countries will present best practices and impact stories from the field.
13 October – Europa Nostra General Assembly & Awards Ceremony

Europa Nostra members gather for the General Assembly in the morning. In the evening, the European Heritage Awards Ceremony celebrates this year’s winners, with live announcements of Grand Prix and Public Choice Award recipients, followed by a festive reception.
The winners of the European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards 2025 will be celebrated at a high-profile event, co-hosted by Glenn Micallef, European Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport, and Prof. Dr. Hermann Parzinger, Executive President of Europa Nostra, and attended by other distinguished guests. The European Heritage Awards Ceremony will be held at Flagey, an iconic Art Deco building in Brussels.
14 October – European Heritage Hub Forum
Brussels Town Hall, La Grand Place
A full-day forum titled “Heritage Matters for Europe’s Cities and Citizens” will host policy discussions around the Culture Compass and EU funding priorities, engaging EU representatives, city officials, NGOs, and heritage leaders.
15 October – European Heritage Policy Agora
Zweig Visitor Centre, European Parliament (TBC)
A morning of public dialogue featuring the Europa Nostra Annual Lecture by historian Orlando Figes, a conversation with MEPs, and a film screening. The Agora will explore Europe’s shared cultural roots and democratic values.
