About the Curator-in-Residence at The Fitzrovia Chapel:
The Fitzrovia Chapel, a Grade II* listed cultural space in London, is offering its first Curator-in-Residence position for 2025-2026. This opportunity is designed for an experienced curator to develop three visual art exhibitions, contributing to the chapel's identity as a place for creative health, wellbeing, and cultural reflection.
The residency includes remote work and onsite collaboration, with a focus on engaging the local community and underrepresented audiences. The selected curator will be responsible for delivering a programme that incorporates diverse artistic practices and reflects the chapel’s commitment to inclusivity, creative health, and historical heritage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curate and deliver three exhibitions: November 2025, January 2026, and March 2026
- Work closely with the chapel’s team on public programming, community engagement, and marketing
- Select artists/artworks and oversee exhibition installations and de-rigging
- Ensure the programme aligns with the chapel’s mission of cultural relevance and accessibility
Eligibility: The call is open to experienced curators with a strong UK visual arts network. Applicants should have a proven track record of delivering curatorial projects, working with diverse artistic practices, and engaging with local and wider communities.
Fee and Support:
- Curator Fee: £21,000
- Travel and accommodation budget: £2,500
- No fundraising required; an exhibition budget is provided
