Last week, Creatives Unite published an article announcing Culture Action Europe’s call to sign a form supporting safeguarding Artistic Freedom and Autonomy, up against growing restrictions on and state intervention in artistic freedom. The co-signatorys of the call have been released, showing a deep commitment to the rights of workers in creative industries towards freedom of expression. The initial survey, Creative Pulse, cited that 34% of respondents noted that they had been significantly or somewhat impacted by growing restrictions on the cultural industries. The call responded to this, asking EU institutions to concretise artistic freedom in their annual Rule of Law Report 2025, to safeguard the practices of art and creative sector workers. Some 22 cultural institutions and organisations have registered their support:
