For the last two years, lifestyle brand TOAST have gathered friends and collaborators to host a series of talks, workshops and live demonstrations for the TOAST Creative Residency.
Together, TOAST and Crafts Council are looking for for an Artist in Residence to a create site-specific work in response to the theme and newly opened gallery space. Participants should respond to the collective lack of control the world has been experiencing over the last year and half, and how this has fostered a glorious and complex new relationship with the environment. The organisers encourage applicants to explore repurposing, reinventing and reusing materials. Following the residency, the piece will become part of the Crafts Council Collection.
The Artist in Residence will receive a fee of £1,500 for time spent on the project and materials. Travel expenses will be covered separately (subject to approval).
