Strategies for the preservation of cultural heritage in health emergency situations

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a direct and indirect impact on the entire spectrum of EU policies in the short, medium and long term, as well as on its external projection. This Symposium will contribute to building the necessary conditions to prevent future pandemics from having the same negative impact on the Cultural Heritage Sector, through the exchange of good practices and dialogues on policies, regulations, as well as standards and protocols.

The Symposium “Exchange of experiences between specialists from Mexico and the European Union: Strategies for the preservation of Cultural Heritage”, seeks to identify the areas of opportunity that exist in the field of technical cooperation between Mexico and the European Union.

Therefore, this event is timely and is aligned with EU policies, as well as with current Mexican initiatives. It is based on the experience gained through previous actions, but in the current context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Its primary objective is to contribute to the deepening of EU-Mexico relations in matters of culture and cultural heritage.
