European publishing at the time of COVID-19

During and after the isolation period that hit most of the continent, the Federation of European Publishers collected information from its members – 29 national associations of publishers of books, learned journals and educational materials from all over Europe – regarding the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on book publishing.

The Culturethèque digital library

Culturethèque offers major titles from the French press, comic strips, music albums, novels, essays on current themes (environmental issues, city-world & urban changes), self-study modules in French as a foreign language (FLE), books and comics for FLE learners (all levels), humanities articles, conferences, web documentaries and video games.

Federation of European Storytelling (FEST)

FEST is an international network of organisations, networks and associations active in the field of oral storytelling.
FEST has 87 members in 25 different countries, who represent national, regional or local organisations like professional storytelling associations, festival organisers, storytelling training centres, local authorities, academies, colleges, universities, cultural centres or libraries, all with a special interest in oral storytelling.

European Writers’ Council (EWC)

The European Writers’ Council is the federation of 41 national organisations of professional writers and translators in 27 countries including the EU, as well as Belarus, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, Turkey and Montenegro, altogether writing in 31 languages. The EWC defends the professional interests of its members in economic, legal and political contexts, their right to remuneration and compensation for their works, their relevance in cultural and social policy, freedom of expression, freedom of association, and the importance of lesser spoken and written languages.

Italy – a digital library

A digital collection containing valuable old books, as a result of the cooperation between University Library of Belgrade, University Library of Banja Luka and Library Lazic (the library of  Adligat Society).

A team of artists and experts began recording the curriculum of school literature, to help understand and comprehend the works to boost motivation and interest in literature.

European and International Booksellers Federation (EIBF)

EIBF represents national booksellers associations in the European Union and beyond aiming to represent its members and their interests on a global platform, before the European institutions and other international organisations. EIBF provides policymakers with professional information about the economic, cultural, and educational role booksellers play, and advocate for book-friendly policies, for the benefit of all readers.

Federation of European Publishers

FEP is the voice of publishers in Europe. An independent non-commercial association representing 28 national associations of book publishers of the European Union and of the European Economic Area.

GESAC – The European Authors’ Societies

GESAC stands for European Grouping of Societies of Authors and Composers (or Groupement Européen des Sociétés d’Auteurs et Compositeurs). It represents over one million creators and rightsholders – from musicians to writers, visual artists to film directors and many more, in the areas of musical, audiovisual, visual arts, and literary and dramatic works.
