The culture and creative sectors are particularly hard hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. This three-part series of talks is intended to strengthen European cultural exchange by jointly developing ideas and strategies for a post-pandemic future.
The second event will discuss “Festivals between Fragility and Resilience. Future of community experience and live culture. “
Festivals as a cultural community experience: what counts is the live experience with the presence of artists and a large audience, personal encounters and physical closeness, international cultural exchange. This cultural practice was hit hard by the corona crisis – cancellations, postponements, experimentation with digital formats, implementation under hygienic measures and with scientific support. In the summer of 2021, a lot became possible, although smaller and open-air formats had it easier. But can this hovering between hope, fear, uncertainty and loss last for a long time? How is the situation in France, Poland and Germany dealt with, what perspectives and reorientations are there, what about sustainability in the festival landscape, for example?
