COVID-19 Impact on the Cultural and Creative Industries in Germany

A report on the extent of the COVID-19 impact on the cultural and creative industries (CCIs) in Germany.

The report focuses on how the lockdown measures impact the different CCIs sub-sectors in Germany and analyses the threat that measures, such as the cancellation of events, pose to professionals and organisations. Due to the cancellation of public events, the cultural industries are more affected than the creative industries, which only consists of the advertising market and the software/games industry.

The report also provides a comparative perspective on the international lockdown measures and examines the different national approaches. Also it estimates potential consequences for the CCIs sector and points towards best practice procedures for political decision-making.
