Coronacrisis: German architects look into the future with concern

The Federal Chamber of German Architects and the Federal Chamber of German Engineers conducted an online survey among all self-employed members of the chambers of architects and engineers of the federal states to understand the impact of the current crisis on the profession.

More than 6,000 architects of all disciplines took time, at the beginning of April, to answer questions about the effects of the corona crisis.

The recent joint survey by the Federal Chamber of Architects and the Federal Chamber of Engineers shows that architectural firms are preparing for difficult economic times. The profession thinks it will be affected above all by downstream effects. More than three-quarters of those surveyed are already feeling the concrete effects of the measures taken against the spread of Covid-19, and a third are even feeling the effects in a clearly negative way, with the interior architects expect to be so far the most affected.
