About the Call

This call for projects provides technical assistance to government institutions for designing, revising, or implementing regulatory frameworks that address the challenges and opportunities of the digital environment for CCIs. The initiative aligns with the 2005 UNESCO Convention and its Digital Open Roadmap, focusing on the protection and promotion of cultural expressions in the digital age.

Key Objectives:

- Developing National Digital Roadmaps: Strategic documents that assess current regulatory frameworks and identify gaps.
- Adopting New Regulatory Frameworks: Policies, strategies, or legislation to support CCIs.
- Establishing Inter-Ministerial Cooperation Mechanisms: Systems to monitor the implementation of regulatory frameworks for CCIs in the digital environment.

Eligibility Criteria

Who Can Apply:

- National government/public institutions responsible for culture governance, including ministries, arts councils, and thematic commissions.
- Only one application per country is accepted.

Project Proposal Requirements:

- Proposals must promote cultural diversity in the digital environment.
- Special consideration for projects that focus on:
- Integrating CCIs into national digital transformation strategies
- Knowledge exchange and advocacy tools
- Specific CCI sub-sectors (e.g., music, audiovisual) or digital aspects (e.g., AI, discoverability)
- Gender equality and multi-stakeholder collaboration

Selection Process:

Applications will be evaluated by an independent panel of experts based on relevance, clarity, feasibility, cost-effectiveness, partnerships, and alignment with UNESCO priorities (e.g., Africa, gender equality, youth).
