The third edition of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) Festival will take place between 9 and 13 June 2026 in the Parc du Cinquantenaire/Jubelpark and Art and History Museum in Brussels, with satellite events across Europe and in many other international locations.
President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President António Costa, Executive Vice-Presidents Henna Virkkunen and Raffaele Fitto, Commissioners Jessika Roswall, Dan Jørgensen and Ekaterina Zaharieva will take part in the Festival. Industry leaders and members of the civil society from the fields of art, architecture, design, sustainability, innovation and more will also participate to the event.
The Festival will reflect on the NEB journey of the last five years and set the direction for its future, following the adoption of the Commission Communication on the NEB in December 2025. It will explore the role of democratic engagement in shaping inclusive and sustainable communities. It will highlight the contribution of citizens and local authorities, with a particular focus on affordable housing. High-level dialogues will address how the bioeconomy and circular economy can support a competitive and sustainable transformation in Europe. The Festival will also present the new scope of the NEB Academy as core infrastructure for skills, knowledge and innovation to transform the built environment, as well as its future expansion in Europe and beyond, including Ukraine, Japan, and Brazil.
The Festival will showcase NEB projects and give the NEB Community an opportunity to meet, exchange and build new networks. This year, it also joins forces with Brussels' Centre for Fine Arts BOZAR to offer a curated programme of films, including on sustainable architecture and community building. Access to the Festival is free of charge. Some sessions require advance registration through the NEB Festival website.
