This symposium focuses on cultural rights with special reference to Malta's national context.

We are living in an era of great transition. How do we honour the dignity of every human being and make a strong and responsible investment in well-being, sustainability and regeneration?

In this scenario, culture and the arts play a prominent role in tuning in to diverse narratives, and cultivating a culture of care.

This interdisciplinary symposium will look into

  • The human rights-based approach to culture and the arts.
  • The underlying opportunity for players to engage more effectively with a diversity of audiences.
  • The value(s) of culture and the arts in tapping into our strengths, and imagining solutions to our common challenges – including the enhancement of holistic well-being and sustainability.

This 2nd edition of State of the Arts - Malta National Symposium will highlight current developments and practices relating to the right to culture, in line with ACM’s commitment to inspire, enable, and nurture vibrant exchanges of knowledge and good practice, driving forward the realisation of cultural rights, and the creation of the framework conditions for the constant improvement of well-being, sustainability, and regeneration. It will include a keynote presentation and a panel discussion, alongside interactive and multi-modal formats.

Symposium Programme

The keynote presentation, speakers, contributors and full programme will be announced soon.
