Would you like to find a supportive, flexible programme which can support you as an artist, and fit around your responsibilities without requiring you to go away for a period of time?
The Artist and the Others announced their new project, an Online Art Residency exclusively for Parent-Artists! This residency programme, representing the first of its kind in the Netherlands, offers a flexible and supportive art residency programme tailored to support and nurture the creative work of parents who are attempting to balance their artistic practice with the responsibilities of raising children.
The project understands the unique challenges that parent artists face, and is here to support them.

Participating parent-artists will be offered guidance to develop a concrete artistic or research project, during a 3-month long residency period thanks to a mix of online support and a final in-person presentation.
Via weekly meetings connections between the artists, and conversations that can benefit their practice will be facilitated. Participating artists will also receive individual and group mentoring from diverse professionals (Joep Vossebeld, Mirthe Berentsen, Jelmer Wijnstroom, Jessica Capra – more information can be found in the open call), and will be assisted in writing and updating their portfolio and artist statement.
During the final weeks of the Online Art Residency Programme for Artist-Parents, participating artists will have the chance to present their final research/project onlineand have an online open studio broadcasted to a wider public (these will be saved and published online to be available to people who cannot attend the live-streamed event). The artists will also be invited to present their research/work in person at Oda Park in Venlo.
