The Jan van Eyck Academie welcomes Alison Tickell, founder of Julie’s Bicycle (UK) for a keynote on the vital role that arts and culture play in climate transformation. In conversation with Jan van Eyck director Hicham Khalidi, Tickell will discuss how linking environmental to cultural policy can call cultural and artistic communities to climate action.
Culture: The Missing Link to Climate Action, is part of Transforming Institutions, a new series of lectures and conversations. By identifying the current environmental crisis as a systemic crisis and acknowledging the unique significance of culture in this context, the series explores the obstacles and possibilities of cultural institutions becoming both responsive and resilient towards the climate emergency and its interlinked socio-cultural crisis.
