About the Exhibition

Studio Samayam is an international design studio working across design research, narrative product design, and decolonial design practices in collaboration with generationally skilled craftspeople. The exhibition “Stories Through Design” challenges conventional production-driven design by foregrounding the social, political, and material narratives embedded in objects. The curatorial concept asks participants to consider where objects come from, who made them, and what forms of labour, land, and knowledge they embody. Rather than celebrating aesthetics alone, the exhibition seeks works that connect making with meaning, accountability, and cultural memory.

In a world full of things, more waste, capitalistic exploitation and colonial injustices, why do we design, for whom do we design and how do we continue to design, make, create? Does your work try to answer these questions? Then we warmly invite you to a collective exhibition at Dutch Design Week titled “stories through design”.

Participants will benefit from:

- Exhibition exposure during Dutch Design Week
- Inclusion in a curated international group show
- Opportunities for dialogue and collaboration with other exhibiting designers
- Visibility within an audience of design professionals, curators, collectors, and visitors attending DDW
- A shared exhibition environment encouraging collective curation and exchange
