Six fiction films, six documentaries and one animation are the 13 projects selected by the jury of the European Solidarity Fund for Ukrainian Films. Co-produced between Ukraine and 8 different contributing countries the films receive a total amount of 1.525.000€ as beneficiaries of the production support scheme for the year 2025.

The European Solidarity Fund for Ukrainian Films (ESFUF) announced the selection of 13 films out of 60 projects submitted to the call published in June.
These 13 films were selected by ESFUF’s jury of experts to receive a total of 1.525.000€.
Co-produced between Ukraine and 8 different contributing countries, these projects will join the list of ESFUF-supported films.
The total grants attributed since the launch of the fund in 2023 amount to 4.3 million euros.
Thanks to these grants, several projects are already completed and have circulated in festivals across Europe and beyond.
The most recent example is Silent Flood by Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk, which received the IDFA award for Best Cinematography in November.
1.050.000€ to support six Fiction Films
Six out of 13 selected projects are fiction films and will receive a total of 1.050.000€. These are the following:
- ANTONIVKA by Kateryna Gornostai, co-produced by Ukrainian production company: Moon Man and Lithuanian production company: Just a moment, supported with 180.000€.
- HAPPY DAYS by Vladlen Odudenko, co-produced by Ukrainian production company: Arsenal Films & Fore Films and Spanish production company: Edna Cinema, supported with 150.000€.
- MAGIC MOUNTAIN by Mykola Zasieiev – Fiction, co-produced by Ukrainian production company: 2Brave Productions and Latvian production company: Trickster Pictures, supported with 180.000€.
- NOAH by Marysia Nikitiuk, co-produced by Ukrainian production company: Directory Films and Croatian production company: Petnaesta umjetnost d.o.o., supported with 180.000€.
- SOMETHING STRANGE HAPPENED TO ME by Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk, co-produced by Ukrainian production company: Mellivora Production and British production company: Wellington Films, supported with 180.000€.
- TIMES NEW ROMAN by Philip Sotnychenko, co-produced by Ukrainian production company: Viatel and Lithuanian production company: Po Mokyklos MB (Afterschool Production), supported with 180.000€.
340.000€ to support six Documentary Films
Six out of the 13 selected projects are documentary films and will receive a total of 340.000 €. These are the following:
- THE FERRYMAN by Pavlo Dorohoi – Documentary, co-produced by Ukrainian production company: Eidos.productions LLC and Norwegian production company: Folk Film, supported with 60.000€
- THE FOREST GLADE by Oksana Savoskina – Documentary, co-produced by Ukrainian production company: Nice.Nice.Film and German production company: filmDOUGH Productions, supported with 60 000€
- PROTOCOL94 by Mstyslav Chernov – Documentary, co-produced by Ukrainian production company: 435 Films and German production company: Detailfilm GmbH, supported with 60.000€
- IT’S NOT A FULL PICTURE by Maryna Stepanska – Documentary, co-produced by Ukrainian production company: Individual entrepreneur Yuliia Sinkevych and British production company: Pinball London, supported with 60.000€
- ASHES SETTLING IN LAYERS ON THE SURFACE by Zoya Laktionova, co-produced by Documentary and Ukrainian production company: 2Brave Productions and French production company: Cinephage Productions, supported with 40.000€
- TRANSPARENCY BOOTH: ECHOES OF THE FUTURE by Anna Kapustina and Alexander Mihalkovich – Documentary, co-produced by Ukrainian production company: Albatros Communicos and French production company: Survivance, supported with 60.000€
135.000€ to supoprt 1 Animation film
The one animation film among the 13 films selected to receive funding is FAMILY SQUAD by Kostiantyn Fedorov. It is a co-production by Ukrainian production company: Animagrad and German production company: Telescope Animation GmbH, supported with 135.000€.
