ENCATC Research Award Honors Cultural Management and Policy Breakthroughs

The prestigious annual ENCATC Research Award recognizes innovative doctoral research with the potential to inform policy and benefit practitioners in the cultural sector.

The ENCATC Research Award is an annual recognition granted to a recently successfully defended doctoral thesis that explores topical issues and takes a step from evaluative (descriptive) to innovative and internationally oriented research designs. The award also recognises theses that can inform policy-making and benefit practitioners in the broad field of culture.

This prestigious award aims to stimulate academic research in the field of cultural management and policy, with an emphasis on its applied implications. It also aims to contribute to the process of creating a network of scholars competent in conducting groundbreaking research projects in cultural policy and cultural management.

The winner of the ENCATC Research Award receives the opportunity to have their thesis published in the ENCATC Advances in Cultural Management and Policy Book Series, which is edited by Routledge, the world's leading academic publisher in the Humanities, Social Sciences and STEM.

To be eligible, candidates must be of any nationality, reside in any country worldwide, and have recently defended their PhD thesis (up to 2 years after defence) with the highest qualification in their country's higher education system. The doctoral thesis must be related to the domain of cultural management and/or policy and may be submitted in any language, although an extensive summary in English is required.

The 2024 ENCATC Research Award Ceremony will take place during the 2024 ENCATC Congress, which is scheduled to be held from 18-20 September in Lecce, Italy.
