How can we use data and technology to ‘Leave Things Better’ in the creative industries?
The Covid19 pandemic has brought global economies to a halt resulting in a global reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and changing working and travel patterns. It has also highlighted and revealed structural inequalities in job security, hitting the creative economy particularly hard.
Join Creative Informatics for Creative Horizon Collider - a conceptual design event bringing together computational and design thinking. Through a series of provocations and questions they will guide you through a design sprint to explore the potential for Horizon Projects that combine circular economy design principles with data-driven innovation. After the event, attendees will be invited to apply for up to £25,000 to support the development of their Creative Horizon Projects.
Over the course of the Creative Informatics programme, five Horizon Projects will explore the potential of emerging technologies to create new technical and business opportunities for the creative industries. Horizon Projects will be high risk/high gain in nature, bringing academics and industry together with the aim of breaking new ground and establishing how technology could benefit the creative industries in the future. The findings of Horizon Projects will be shared with Edinburgh’s wider creative community.
