Creative Europe | New action to support European Heritage Label sites

The European Commission has selected the European Heritage Label Bureau project for the implementation of the 3 million EURO, three-year long action for the capacity-building of staff and coordinators of the sites.

May 03, 2023

The new European Heritage Label Bureau operates as an umbrella organisation for the European Heritage Label sites and follows the successful EHL@Network project that took place between 2019 and 2022.

The new project pursues the objectives stemming from this network and offers the European Heritage Label sites and national coordinators opportunities for the following activities:

  • Networking
  • Collaboration
  • Training opportunities
  • Outreach and visibility operations

Objectives of the bureau

The European Heritage Label Bureau has the following objectives:

  • Development of synergies between sites, national coordinators and active players in the cultural heritage sector.
  • Capacity-building of sites and national coordinators by providing peer-to-peer learning opportunities and easy access to information through a future resource centre.
  • Support the communication and promotion activities by establishing a strong outreach plan based on stakeholders’ different needs, through an appealing visual identity, strong communication strategies and knowledge regarding the target audiences - especially youth and marginalised communities.

To support the growth of the European Heritage Label, the European Commission has published a call for the creation of a single “umbrella organisation” in 2023.

The call has a budget of 3.000.000 EURO and will fund:

  • Either a single project proposed by a single organisation
  • Or a consortium of organisations working to implement all three objectives of this call.

Organisations from all Creative Europe participating countries can apply, but only activities organised in the 27 EU Member States are eligible.
