Choreography Workshop in Bucharest for emerging artists

Emerging choreographers with at least two years of professional experience in contemporary dance are invited to apply for a six-day intensive workshop in Bucharest. Held from April 7–12, 2025, as part of the Moving Balkans project, the workshop will provide tools to enhance artistic practice while fostering international exchange and collaboration.

About the Workshop

Designed as a six-day laboratory of artistic exploration, the workshop combines interdisciplinary techniques, composition, visual dramaturgy, and artistic research. Daily sessions (10 AM–4 PM) will include masterclasses, group work, and knowledge exchange in a multicultural setting. Selected participants will benefit from mentoring by renowned dance professionals and gain tools to deepen their creative processes.

Mentors Include:

- Patricia Apergi (Greece) – Choreographer, Director of Aerites Dance Company
- Rita Góbi (Hungary) – Choreographer, Teacher, Founder of Góbi Dance Company
- Joana Leśnierowska (Poland) – Choreography Curator, Visual Dramaturg, Performance Maker
- Mădălina Dan (Romania) – Choreographer, Performer, Dance Teacher
- Simona Deaconescu (Romania) – Choreographer and Filmmaker

Who Can Apply

Dancers and emerging choreographers with at least two years of professional experience and one publicly presented choreographic work

Applicants must be residents of: Bulgaria, Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Albania, Greece, North Macedonia, Türkiye, Bosnia Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo*, or Romania

Financial Support

The National Centre for Dance Bucharest will cover:

- Workshop participation fees
- Travel expenses
- Accommodation
