Perimetro magazine and LIVEINSLUMS, organizers of 100 Photographers for Bergamo, have brought together the photography community for a timely fundraising initiative, United Photographers for Ukraine. The fundraiser runs online at www.4ukraine.perimetro.eu from March 18-31, featuring prints donated by over 200 international photographers priced at €100. Funds raised will support the Ukraine National Specialized Children’s Hospital (Ohmatdyt) and the International Red Cross.
The Ohmatdyt Hospital, Ukraine’s largest children’s hospital, now shelters critical patients who could not be evacuated and provides care to those wounded in Russia’s ongoing bombardment of the city. Its staff, of about 300, largely live at the hospital to care for their patients and rely on outside help keep going. Funds will also be directed to the International Red Cross, which is providing medical assistance in areas of the country currently under military attack and protection for refugees on the western border of the country (Prochowice), the central collection point for European humanitarian aid.
The campaign is also supported by Base Milano, which houses the project’s headquarters, by Fontegrafica who will take care of printing images, by the 4Sigma Studio that will develop the online system; by the PRs Luisa Bertoldo, Bianca Maria Bertolissi, Alessia Rizzetto and the many ambassadors that will help them share this campaign.
