Art Athina has been a cornerstone event of the art community for over three decades, celebrating its 30th anniversary last year. The fair has been acting as a meeting point of visitors including artists, galleries, collectors, and art enthusiasts from around the world. Each year, it attracts thousands of visitors, a number that continues to grow annualy.
This year, the well-known fair will open its gates for the Greek and international artworld from
September 19–23 2024, at the historical
Zappeion Mansion.Organized by the
Hellenic Art Galleries Association, Art Athina is renowed for its diverse program. Director
Antonis Kourkoulos welcomes the new member of the fair's team
Development Director Marilena Koutsoukou, leader of the strategic partnerships sector. Together, they aim to continue Art Athina's strong impact in the art world. This years visual identity will be created by
G Design Studio.
Art Athina 2024 edition carries on its goal to maintain the dialogue between the Greek and international galleries open, by featuring more than 70 participants per year. This year, the fair presents its core program, in the Main sector, showcasing a wide selection of local and international galleries.
59 galleries,
970 artworks and
300 artists will form the 31st art fair event.
The fair is also comprised of the following parallel programming, each with a different focus:
- To Design with the participation of galleries active in the promotion of experimental design and collectibles curated by Mare Studio.
- The Projects, featuring independent art spaces curated by Loukia Thomopoulou.
- Talks, six discussions with renowned guests, curated by Olympia Tzortzi and thematically focused on the evolution and function of art galleries.
- A video that aims to bring the audience in contact with innovative visual material, curated by Panos Giannikopoulos.
- Performance with works and proposals that will be presented for the first time to the public of the Athenian Foire, curated by Nicolas Vambouklis.
- Kids' Educational Program designed by the non-profit international social organization of Contemporary Art and Culture, KROMA, for children over six years old, teenagers and their companions.
Art Athina 2024 is organized by the Hellenic Art Galleries Association and is a production of BeBest. The event has been included in the Regional Program “Attica 2021–2027”.
