OASis | Artist Residency in Le Garage Moderne in France
Multi-disciplinary residency for international artists in Bordeaux
For the second year, Le Garage Moderne opens a residency cycle within the OASIS project. Five grants are available to international artists.
Le Garage Moderne has just returned to its 19th-century building after a two-and-a-half-year renovation period spent in a temporary location. They invite artists in residency to take over this space and explore its physical and social possibilities. The project is looking for site-specific proposals that play with the verticality, the scale of the space, our community, and the hive-like vibe of the venue—where we all run around, shout, get our hands dirty, and learn in the process.
Any discipline is welcome: design, visual art, performing arts, film, small-scale architecture, emergency architecture, craft-making, street furniture, sound, and interdisciplinary or community-based practices. Proposals that combine artistic creation with spatial and social are especially welcomed.
Selected artists are expected to be open to exchange and collaboration with our permanent residents and 3 local artists sourced by Le Garage Moderne in a separate OASIs call.
