STPLN | Residency Programme

Explore participatory theatre, public space & collective storytelling at STPLN' residency in Malmö

This 6-week residency programme, taking place from 1 July – 14 August 2026 at STPLN in Malmö, explores Participatory Theatre (PT) and Participatory Urban Design as tools for civic engagement and spatial activation within today’s complex global political and social climate. t a time when many individuals feel disconnected from decision-making processes that shape their lives, the project investigates how artistic participation can create meaningful spaces for agency and collective imagination.

A multidisciplinary group of artists and cultural professionals will collaborate with local audiences to create inclusive platforms for dialogue, shared storytelling, and democratic exchange, inviting audiences as active contributors, not spectators.

The residency is funded by the European Union through Culture Moves Europe and implemented by the Goethe-Institut.
