Residency in Vienna for four international mid-career curators

Verein K is pleased to announce the call for applications for the residency program Visiting Curators Vienna 2026.
For its eighth edition, four international mid-career curators will be selected based on the quality of their previous work and the strength and relevance of the exhibition project(s) they submit.
The residency
Selected curators will spend ten days in Vienna (November 16–25, 2026) engaging directly with artists, institutions, independent spaces, and cultural practitioners.
The program offers:
- Tailored introductions to artists, curators, gallerists, and institutions
- Assistance in arranging meetings and visits according to your interests, including
- Studio visits
- Meetings with independent art spaces and collections
- Guided visits to selected exhibitions
- Strategic support in developing long-term collaborations

Travel and accommodation costs, as well as per diems, will be covered by Verein K.

ELIGIBLE COUNTRIES
ELIGIBILITY
The program is for curators who:
- Have realized exhibitions in museums and/or other professional art institutions
- Are planning an exhibition within the next two years outside Austria that includes one or more artists based in Austria
- Are interested in expanding their international network and developing lasting collaborations
Selection will take into account gender balance and diversity. There is no thematic restriction.
The working language of the program is English.
