Commission launches Creative Europe Call (EUR 3M) for innovative cross-border media literacy projects, aiming to boost societal resilience against disinformation and information manipulation.
In view of the rapidly evolving digital media landscape and the importance of equipping citizens with up-to-date skills and awareness, the Commission is launching a call for proposals to support innovative solutions to enhance media literacy skills. The projects shall foster effective cross-border cooperation and enhance societal resilience against disinformation and information manipulation among Europeans.
Media literacy skills allow people to think critically about the information they see and share. It empowers everyone to make informed choices. Media literacy also supports active citizenship and inclusion. Strengthening these skills builds resilience against information manipulation and other threats to democracy. Innovative projects can use new ideas, tools, or methods—online or offline—to make this learning more engaging and effective.
The present call for proposals has been launched under the cross-sectoral strand of the Creative Europe Programme.
The objective of the call is to encourage innovative cross-border media literacy projects and practices across Europe among various population segments, addressing the challenges of a continuously changing digital media landscape.
