Climate-KIC invites you to take part in the green business ideas competition

Applications are now open for the 2024 edition of ClimateLaunchpad, the international programme that seeks the best business ideas to combat climate change. In Portugal, the largest cleantech competition in the world is organized by UPTEC — Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto.

This European Union initiative wants to grow cleantech projects from around the world in the following categories:

  • Agriculture
  • Air and Environment
  • Clean Energy
  • Clean Industry
  • Energy Storage
  • Efficiency
  • Transportation
  • Water/Blue Economy

TYPE OF SUPPORT
The three winners of the national final of ClimateLaunchpad will represent Portugal in the regional final of the competition and enjoy free incubation at UPTEC for four months, in addition to mentoring, training and other prizes awarded by the programme’s partners valued at 10 thousand euros.

ELIGIBILITY

Who can enter the Competition:

  • Anyone with a promising cleantech idea, being a start-up, SME, researcher, student, public organisation, consultant, engineering company, a combination of these or anyone else.
  • You can only enter in your own country.
  • You cannot enter ClimateLaunchpad if you’ve already been accepted into EIT Climate-KIC Accelerator or have participated in ClimateLaunchpad (or the former CleanLaunchpad) with the same business idea in a previous year.

You can only enter if:

  • Υou have not yet started a business or your company has been incorporated for less than a year (definition: your legal entity does not exist for more than 1 year).
  • Υou have attracted less than € 200.000 in investment (definition: no funding as a venture. Funding as a student is not counted).
  • Υou have not yet sold products, solutions or prototypes on commercial terms.
