Cultural Impact Now!

On June 4th and 5th 2020, the European Network of Cultural Centres (ENCC) and Trans Europe Halles, in collaboration with the Danish cultural centre Maltfabrikken, jointly organised an online event about the effect of the COVID-19 crisis on cultural impact.

Is this crisis changing the way we consider culture, its impact, its role in society? How are we redefining our position as artists, cultural organisations, cultural venues, and how should we approach this in the future?

Speakers Eleonora Belfiore, Pier Luigi Sacco, Michel Bauwens and Richard Florida and workshop leaders Agata Etmanowicz and Pal Szenasi gathered to talk about the current situation, focusing on future scenarios and on possible actions and alternatives.

This online conference was a prequel to the large-scale European conference originally scheduled to gather several hundred participants in Denmark, and which had to be postponed to 2021.

Full recordings of the opening panel and first keynote are available here, as well as a list of key references mentioned by the speakers.
